Talking SharePoint Service strategy at JBoye Aarhus 2013
Time for the yearly #JBoye Aarhus conference! As always, a great selection of speakers in digital marketing and information management topics. And a full track dedicated to SharePoint; entitled “Making SharePoint work“. @Agnes Molnar, @Sharon Richardson and a few other great SharePoint speakers are there…
The SharePoint track is not a technical track at all, and I think that business are realizing that they should perhaps be going to more conferences like this one to really understand how to benefit from their SharePoint investments. Especially with SharePoint Online / Office 365 taking over bigger chunks of customers, meaning that the SharePoint IT Pro tracks will be changing character.
This year I will host a session on SharePoint service management and delivery, as a strategic approach to minimizing risk, and delivering increased value to the business. In this session, we will talk about the complexity of SharePoint platform, and suggest a different strategy to scoping and delivering SharePoint to the business. I have used this approach with major clients across Scandinavia in 2012 and 2013, and the result have been very positive. We have been successful in identifying what is really important with SharePoint, and leaving all the less important stuff in the backlog. The result is a much more relevant and reliable service, provided to the business in the way that they can understand and consume it.
I am looking forward to taking this discussion to the next level with a business oriented audience at JBoye13 on Tuesday. http://aarhus13.jboye.com/session/making-sharepoint-work-session-5/
Slides from the session will be available from the JBoye.com site (at least I think so) and you are welcome to request them here as well. Just remember, nothing beats being there and being a part of the discussion. I hope to see you at the session and for the Conference dinner on Monday or maybe the “Running with the Vikings” Tuesday/Wednesday morning? 🙂
