SharePoint 15 / 2013 Public Beta launch

by Anders B. Skjønaa (

SPTechReport is reporting that they have talked to several annonymous sources saying that the promised Public Beta for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 – or SharePoint 15 – will be made available to the public on Monday.

There has been a lot of guesses and predictions about what the next version of SharePoint will bring. For most SharePoint professionals it will be good to finally get certainty – and for those who already have had the priveledge to work with the early bits; good to finally be able to talk about it.

Why Microsoft is choosing to release the public beta exactly at the time where almost everyone is away on vacation, is a bit of a mystery to me. If the launch is going to happen on monday, I guess a lot of my collegues will be bringing their laptop to the poolside, this year.

Read the post from SPTechReport here.

Even with the Beta coming out, we still have a lot of work to do on the current version. The RTM version of SharePoint 2013 is not likely to ship until late this year. Perhaps we will spend christmas holidays with SharePoint too… o<):-)

I wish you all a great summer…
